What we do after a storm

  1. Make it safe and protect it. Tarping or temporary repairs to limit further damage, when it's safe to get on the roof.
  2. Document. Dated photos of the damage and of what we did, plus receipts.
  3. Written estimate. An itemized estimate for the permanent repair or replacement that you can send to your insurer.
You file and manage your own claim and talk to your insurer directly. You stay in control of your claim from start to finish.

Deadlines to know

Under Florida law, notice of a property claim generally must be given within 1 year after the date of loss (18 months for a supplemental claim). For hurricanes, the date of loss is the landfall date. Report damage to your insurer promptly and keep emergency repair receipts.

Frequently asked questions

Should I get on the roof myself?

No. Wet, damaged roofs are dangerous. From inside, move belongings, catch drips and take photos. Call us for the roof.

Will my insurer pay for the tarp?

Many policies expect you to make reasonable emergency repairs to prevent further damage. Check your policy and keep receipts and photos.

Can you be there when the adjuster comes?

If you want us there, we can meet the adjuster at your home to point out the damage on the roof. The claim stays yours.
